Work Log: Monday, April, 19 2010-- 830 AM- 12PM Wednesday, April 21, 2010-- 830 AM-12 PM
Last week was the same as usual, only I had a lot of trouble with getting road releases approved. I've never had trouble with the approval process, but this week proved to me that sometimes you can't please everyone. In the end, I found that it was just miscommunication problems over E-mail. Over the last 10 weeks that I have been working at the Senate I realized that the people that work here are a very tight knit group. One of the guys I work with had an engagement party thrown for him by his fellow co-workers.
With only 2-3 weeks left I am happy that the semester is ending, but I am sad to say goodbye to everyone here at the Senate. I only hope that when I find a job in the future the work place will be as pleasant as it is here.
That's all for this week.

Last Week @ the Senate
Work Log: Wednesday, April 14, 2010 8:30 AM-12:15 PM
It was a usual week at the Oklahoma State Senate. Wednesday was the Tulsa Regional Day and I ran into a few people that I had previously worked for at the Tulsa Metro Chamber. I really enjoyed working for the Chamber of Commerce in Tulsa because there were so many nice people and they did great things for the city. Speaking of great things that they have done, Tulsa Young Professionals, which is part of the Chamber, is an awesome way for recent college graduates to come together and network. If you already have a job or are looking to find one, Typros has many ways for people living in the Tulsa area to get involved with local employers. Although I don't want to live in the Tulsa area I will still look into different jobs there. Back to the Senate, I did my regular routine with page releases, road releases, e-clippings and sorting through the past week's newspapers. Before I leave the Senate in May, I am going to see if they can give me a mock interview that will help me get ready for the many interviews to come. That is all for this week.

Week @ The Senate
Work Log: Monday, April 5, 2010--830 AM-12AM & Wednesday, April 7, 2010--830 AM-12 PM
The weeks are flying by and my time at the Oklahoma State Senate is almost over! Although my job description doesn't allow me to do much besides media releases and e-clippings, I am now very experienced with both and if I were to have to do them in the future I would be a pro. There were more people at the Capitol this week than I have ever seen throughout the past couple of months. I think that I have decided to take some kind of post grad internship after I graduate. I thought it would be nice to find something in Tulsa then go to Dallas and eventually work my way to New York City. A girl can dream and I hope mine comes true. That's all I have for this week.

Last Week @ the Senate
Work Log: Monday March 29, 2010-- 830AM-12PM; Wednesday March 31, 2010-- 830AM-12PM
This week has been about the same as every other week and I worked on the daily e-clippings for the statewide newspapers and broadcast media. I didn't see much news about government topics or things that had to do with the Senate or House of Reps. Since all of the road releases were finished, I worked with Jennifer on finishing up the next few weeks page releases for the senators. A few Senate employees have been trying to guide me in the right direction on my job hunt. There has been an opening at the Capitol, but I think that I am going to try and get a job out of state if it is possible.
I only have a month or so left of this internship so I'm going to try and soak up as much knowledge as I can. I will write again at the end of this week.
